New rule re advertising prohibition

In the interest of clarity (for me anyhow) relative to links being considered as advertising by the new owners- what links fall into this category? YouTube, gun parts resource, firearms manufacturers, gun show venues, gun clubs or organizations like, for example, NMLRA / NRA ?

If I were to include the problem links do I get charged for this or are they automatically screened out of my post?

I want to make sure I understand this restriction and that I do not cause any problems.

Thanks

Good night Chesty, wherever you are......

Is this new rule posted somewhere?

On a related note, I don't see the list of advertisers anywhere on my forum layout, like they used to be. Is there still a list of advertisers on the forum homepage? If so, maybe how I have my page set up is the reason?

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

Hey there

The easiest way to break it down is this; if the link makes you money or gives you a kickback of any sort, it is considered commercial posting. For example, if your site has a store attached to it, or you are using an affiliate link.

You can still link to helpful Youtube videos, gun parts resources (that you are not affiliated with), gun show venues or clubs and organizations as you always have.

As for a list of advertisers, we don't normally have these. You can find vendors in threads, and posting in the Commercial Classifieds. They have a badge on their account like 60XCustomStrings The HuntingPA.com Outdoor Community - View Profile: 60XCustomStrings
