optics forum

I suggest having an optics forum. Or maybe a sub forum in field gear. A place to discuss what scope for my new rifle or what's the best binoculars under $600. What's the best spotting scope for an elk hunt or what rangefinder for hunting. Not sure how much interest there would be in this but I think it would keep these types of post in one place for reference and discussion.

Re: optics forum

Not a bad idea. Im a member of another forum where there is a specific optics forum which also includes mounts and related gear.
Be prepared for alot of (whats the best scope
under $100) type questions however, and (buy the yadda yadda), i love mine type answers.

Re: optics forum

i suggested this very thing in March of 2014. Didn't get any response at all. Still think its a good idea and would frequent it often. I belong to another well known national forum that has an optics forum but I don't go there very much as a Leupold is considered low end. Now don't get me wrong as I have nothing against Leupold, and use a few, but I also have and use Tasco ,Bushnell and Simmons.I also have some oddball scopes that it would be nice to talk about and learn about without being berated for having junk. I would like to think thats how it would be here as most everyone on this forum is pretty down to Earth and not scope snobs.
Hopefully the idea gets some traction this time and becomes a reality.

Re: optics forum

Don't get me wrong , I appreciate good optics , but I feel it does fine under hunting gear . Any time I'm boiling down a scope or binoculars , I go to optics review sites . Although I do enjoy BSing about the pro's & con's and why I purchased certain optic for a certain task .
