Anyone specialize in old mount restoration

I have a Mule Deer that has a unique story to it, but is in need of some serious help. The parts in need of the most help are the ears and antlers. Anyone specialize in that kind of work. Im starting taxidermy school on Mon, but I know it will take a lot of work and practice to fix this bad boy. I would like to get it taken care of in the near future.

Re: Anyone specialize in old mount restoration

I know in most cases people want to save the original cape, but the best thing to do with a really tattered old mount is to remount the antlers with a new cape. As for antlers they can be cleaned and re-stained if they've lost their color. How bad is the damage? Do you have pics of it that you can post?
