Who will/can do a hare?

In the event that I kill a snowshoe hare in the coming months, I'm looking someone to either A) mount the hare on a mold (not freeze dried) or B) Tan the hide for me.

If anyone does the freeze drying, I'll entertain the thought of it, but I already have a few freeze dried. They look good in my opinion but they do shrink a bit.

Here is one of my mounts, I'd be looking for a similar pose or possibly one with the hare on his back feet, standing, picking at a tree branch. Let me know if anyone has a ballpark price, feel free to PM.

I have one freeze-dried....

and another one skin mounted with a grey fox.

I'd definitely go with freeze-dried. You are correct though, they shrink abit. I may get one more done this season. I think the guy that does my deer has a freeze-dryer. I'm guessing around $350 for a hare.
The one in my first pic was done 13 years ago and still looks great.

Re: Who will/can do a hare?

Nice Beagler. I love that gray fox/hare mount, I've seen you post it before, it looks great. Why would you go freeze dried? Your pic of the freeze dried one looks great as well, but I just figured a skin mount would look better, and more closely to real life size. Who did your skin mount?

The picture I posted is freeze dried, and I didn't pay anywhere near 350 to have it done, actually, you wouldn't believe me if I told you the price.

It seems that no one wants to mess around with skin mounting a rabbit, apparently it's too much work for not enough return??

Anyway, I did have a single taxidermist contact me in regards to my post, Randy will hopefully be getting a call this winter.
