Black coyote back home

I shot this 31# female black coyote this past January and have been waiting on pins and needles for the call from the taxidermist. I have seen some pretty bad mounts and some really good mounts and was anxious to see how she turned out.

I asked for a trotting pose with the ears at mid point as this coyote was taken off of a drive and she had them ears swiveling forward and hard to the rear as she headed my way. Plus I never really like the hard erect ears that many coyote mounts have.

Here she is the day I shot her. A day I will never forget as this fulfilled a long quest of mine to shoot a coyote, then to shoot a black one on top of getting my first.

Here are four angles of the finished mount.

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

Awesome mount! I'd love to see her on a more rustic natural base but that's just me. Congrats!

Awesome Mount! And it looks like you took her with a Flintlock, if I'm looking at the picture correctly. Even more of a trophy, means you don't flinch!

The more people that I meet, the more I love my dog

Thanks and yes, taken with the flinchlock. Oh yes, I flinch. I somehow managed to flinch just a little less than I usually do. I almost missed her. Another two inches and it would have been a clean miss.

Beautiful trophy.

The older I get, the stronger gravity becomes.
