Tanning deer hides

Hello all,

Looking for advice or input. Does anyone know where to get deer hides tanned in the western PA area, and how much do they charge? Fur on.

Thanks

Re: Tanning deer hides

Any taxidermist can get them tanned for you. Prices vary (as with most everything) but expect to pay over $120.

Re: Tanning deer hides

My brother and I tanned 2 hides ourselves years ago. We sent away for a kit which wasn't very much at that time and bought 2 large plastic garbage cans to use. He still has his after 30+ years and I gave mine to my fiancee. A taxi. would have to prep the hide for you hence the higher price. I was told that when a taxi. sends them to the tannery it costs him $75 per hide.
