Today was a very special day for me, as I got to stop by the taxidermist and get a peak at the animal I have been chasing all my hunting career. The animal that I couldn't put a tag on for years. The one I wanted the most.
My Pennsylvania Black Bear.
The taxidermist appreciated every minute he put into this animal for me when he saw my reactions, my loss for words and my expressions. It was like the day I shot the bear, exactly what taxidermy was meant to do. Bring that magical moment back.
Walking in there today after work was like walking back in time... I could hear the leaves crunching, the branches breaking, and the black figure making his way through the thick stuff...
Words can't explain the work this taxidermist did for me, and how well he did... better pictures to come.
Here's a sneak peak at the taxidermist... I'll take some good quality photos once I get it situated this weekend in it's permanent "den" and get the digital camera rolling
This picture was taken with a cell phone, and really doesn't do any justice.
Stay tuned for the better pictures.
Here's a link to the story...
As promised, here's the mount in it's final resting place. It's final "den"
