masters champ bobcat!

WOW...is all i can say! just picked up my bobcat mount from my good friend Bob Schmouder Jr from Schmouders custom taxidermy studio between Wellsboro n Mansfield Tioga Co on rte 6. i trapped this cat in jan of the 2010 season...last fri of the season to be exact on a blind set crossing a logging road on a steep bank. the day before i missed a cat...maybe the same one...due to daily freeze n thaw and a half sprung trap.
the elk horn the cat is on is one side of a match set i found in cameron co several years ago. it would have been cool to have had that cat come from "elk country" but i had the idea in my head for this mount the same day i picked up those horns...long before i was graced with the cat!

Bob is a an amazing taxidermist who has skills that are unmatched in my opinion when it come to small mammals (escpecially cats) and deer! while i dont personnaly have one of his deer mounts several of my family members do and several freinds also...i just havnt been lucky enough to tag a wall hanger...lol

Bob took my cat and another clients cat to the NY state taxi compotition in Syracuse 2 weeks ago where he competed in the masters division with both cats. he received first place blue ribbons for BOTH cats! an amazeing feat for his first entry in the masters division! my cat was a serious contender for the Wasko award which im told is the most prestigious award for a taxi. while it didnt win it is still a great honor to be considered!

close up of the feet...he was exceptionally proud of these..

the face

pics a lil blurry i guess from my ancient digi camera and the deff dont do this cat justice!

if your looking for a truely awesome cat taxi and all around good guy check Bob out...(570) 439-6721...taxidermy isnt his full time gig and he gets backed up pretty quickly every year and actually ends up turning people away every year. if you do decide to call hill tell him Bryan mentioned him on huntingpa...he'll get a kick outta it...not a big internet guy...lol
