Freezing a fox hide?

How long is too long for a hide to be in a freezer? I shot a fox in early 2011 and still have the hide in the freezer. Do you think it would have went bad already or is it good for a couple years? Any hellp is appreciated! Thanks

I'm willing to die trying to keep them; Are you willing to die trying to take them?

Re: Freezing a fox hide?

As long as it was wrapped up good in plastic with the air squeezed out it should be fine

Re: Freezing a fox hide?

I just got a red fox of my own out to send to the tannery that went in the freezer early 2011 and it was fine. There are some variables as to if it will be good or not, but I would say it should be fine or at the very least able to be saved/fixed.
