Re: unique euro mount

This is a traditional oak table/wall mount. the base swivels and locks to mount on the wall. I had this done at blystones taxidermy near Indiana, PA but the bases are hand made by John T Jefferson from Appolo PA.

Re: unique euro mount

I recently finished my second euro mount head, but have not put it to a board yet. You can find numerous mounting boards for sale on EBAY. Some are commercial and others handmade. For my first one I made my own and prefer it over those I have seen for sale. I purchased at a craft store two wooded plaque boards. These boards are sort of oval and have the tree bark still around the outer edge. I used a smaller one for the wall board and a larger one to mount the head to. It is pretty much like the one in Uncysid's pic, but with a much more rustic look. I have a shoulder mount on rough barn board and wanted something to blend with that look. For my newly finished euro head I will make another board like my first. I would post a pic of my completed one if I could but dont have one available to post. If you send me a cell number I can send you a picture text if you would like to see it.

Re: unique euro mount

heres mine from this year...

sounds like your doing somethin similar already!

i cut mine off a limb and cut the slabs off at a veryyyy slight angle to get them long...the skull sits off the wall 4-5" or so...hard to tell in the pics...i like them sitting at that angle much better than flat on the wall...

the tree was down a long while so i brought it in and sprayed it with a few coats of spar urethane and thats it..did a little sanding but i left it pretty rough...took me about 10 cuts with the chain saw to get them decent and pretty uniform in thickness and not too thick or too thin..

good luck!! post pics when your done!

i need to go make one for my yote skull..im thinking something like that bear skull in the post...
