Fox and Grouse mount?

Any ideas on how to do a mount of a fox jumping at a grouse? I've looked for pictures but can't find a good one. You guys have any ideas or pictures?
Thanks

Its not difficult to do---just time consuming. The ones I've done were done by altering a running manikin. Some companies may even have manikins in that pose.

Re: Fox and Grouse mount?

I have seen mounts of fox jumping at pheasants. I'll see if I can get a pic up for you.

Here is a pic of one for you.

Mckenzie Taxidery sells forms of leaping fox. Check them out online.

Re: Fox and Grouse mount?

i'm thinking something along the lines of this, with a grouse instead of a pheasant

what would something like this cost to do? my taxidermist is top notch but have yet to take him anything but fish and ducks

Re: Fox and Grouse mount?

Brian Harness from Ozark Woods taxidermy supply sells a form of a fox jumping up for a pheasant/grouse. I have done them with bobcats as well, they look really good when finished.

Re: Fox and Grouse mount?

Well my fox full mount laying on a rock was $500. You have to figure the cost of a grouse mount aswell. Weather they buy one already mounted or you have one that can be mounted. Best bet call your taxi and ask.

Re: Fox and Grouse mount?

Here is one I had done a while ago with a gray fox and a wood duck. One of these days when I get a nice coyote, I would like to do one with a grouse. I was really lucky, the guy that did this for me worked for a taxidermist and worked on the side as well. If I remeber right, he charged me around $250, but that was around 15 years ago now. He specialized in waterfowl mounts, but he did a bang up job on the fox as well.
