I am wanting to mount my own duck. I know I can do it!!!!! It may take me a few. Do any of you guys have tips, free videos, websites etc....? Thanks for any info.

tip: if you value your duck, pay a taxidermist

sorry, other than that, check out van dyke's webpage and also check youtube, there is a bunch of stuff on there.

without the proper tools/machines it will be hard to get all the fat off, but if you want to try go to http://www.taxidermy.net and go under beginners or tutorials, and search for that topic. maybe someone would prep it for you??? then you just have to mount it. good luck

DON'T KNOW ABOUT FREE VIDEOS. BUT GOGGLE TAXIDERMY SUPPLIERS. THEY ALL OFFER VIDEOS.OR TAXIDERMY.NET AS MENTIONED. GIVE IT A TRY. IT CAN BE FUN. WARNING. ABOUT 15 MIN INTO DEGREASING MOST PEOPLE ARE DONE AND ON THE PHONE TO THE TAXIDERMIST

Thanks guys im giving it a try! You have to cut down the breast. So I figure I will not be wasting the bird. Im sure after a couple I will figure it out. Thanks Again for the info, or any ifno to come.

Did I see that there is a class at the taxidermy convention this year? That is hands on but you have to sign up or register.

It's not the size of the shop, it's the quality of the work!

yep, limited number of seats I think, u supply the bird skin and pre paint the bill

There is a hands on waterfowl seminar with Paige Nethercutt from North Carolina, the class is limited to 20 students, its 100.00, but you need to be a PTA member, and of course register for the convention. You will supply a bird of choice, it needs to prepped and ready to mount, when you register with Freddy, he will get you the head
For the bird you are mounting. Good luck to you...!
