Albino Coon Pelt For Sale

Got a albino coon just before Christmas last week, so fully prime. It has been skinned, fleshed, and put on a coon board. Its measurers 34 to 34.5 inches long from nose to the hip line. I'm looking for someone who is interested in purchasing this pelt from me. It would make a good tanned pelt to hang in camp or in your "hunting room", etc...

If you are interested, please PM me your contact information. I'll try and get some pics up.

Thanks.

Something to keep in mind for the future----rare specimens like albinos are much more valuable to taxidermists when in the carcass. Simply put the animal in a garbage bag and freeze it.

Yeah like 100.00 and up depending on size and if any damage. But maybe it had trap damage on 1 paw that made that paw no good.

You might as well just trash it.
It's worthless to the fur market and unless It has all it's feet and minumal damage and (of cource ) the taxidermist has a customer looking for one it would be a waste of his time and money.

Re: Albino Coon Pelt For Sale

Odd colors are worth less on the fur market, but often worth more on the taxidermy market. That depends on damage done. Even a purple raccoon isn't worth much to a taxidermist if it was shot in the face with a slug. That being said though, it is not useless. You could get it tanned for yourself, or I'm sure someone would want it. A lot of people collect different animal pelts. You will not be able to get what you could have if it was frozen whole like Paul said though.

I've been a taxidermist for over fourty years and I would'nt consider buying a albino raccoon unless I had a customer requesting one ( which has never happened yet )
and then it would have to be complete with all feet and taxidermy quality.

That's a good offer, he'd better take it.
As the old saying goes " The best time to sell something is when you have a buyer ".
Or as old Joe Kennedy once said, " only a fool waits for top dollar ".
