I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a rabbit I want to get mounted. I called a few taxidermists in the Lancaster area but the only one that did them was trop and they wanted 425 or 450 to do it. I'm not cheap but that sounded a little salty for a rabbit. Just wondering if there was anyone else in the area.

I shot a snowshoe a couple of years ago in the ANF. I took it to a taxidermist in Kane to get mounted. She wanted about the same amount. Needless to say, it went into the pot instead. I already have a couple of rabbit mounts that were done in the early 90's. I would say definitely go with the freeze drying technique. A lot of taxidermist won't even touch them because apparently they tear very easily.
