Re: Antler Mount

I do all mine myself with a kit from WASCO(wildlife artist supply co). Its not that hard if you have basic handi-man and craft skills. It comes with all the supplies and mine turn out excellent looking. Its a wood plaque, foam skull cap, and covered in felt.

Re: Antler Mount

I do mine myself with a kit from a placed called Matuska Taxidermy Supplies out of Iowa.

The kit, with shipping runs around $40.00 but it is a professional looking product. You better be a little handy, but it looks great in the end.

Comes with an oak trophy board plaque, mache, leather, foam skull cap fitting and the other necessary elements. The only thing I buy separate is rope to string around the bases of the antlers.

I will submit a finished product picture soon. I've gotten a lot of compliments on them, and a lot of offers to mount antlers - no thank you. I've mounted 4 on this kit so far, working on another 2 right now.

Have gun, will travel.

Re: Antler Mount

Same here.I got a guy with a wood shop to make up a bunch of cherry and walnut plaques...I use a combo of carpet foam, red velvet material, and a lot of sewing thread...takes me about an hour to do one these days.
