How do I........

......maintain an animal if I can't go to the taxidermist right away. Reason I ask is because the coyote were acting up a lot this morning and wondered if I were to shoot something like a coyote, fox, bobcat or whatever then what is proper procedure if I can't take it to a taxidermist right away.

BTW I don't mean taking it hours later I mean like a month or so.

Re: How do I........

Put them in a garbage bag. Try to get all the air out of it and tie it off. Then double bag it, take a second garbage bag and do the same and get him in the freezer. The double bagging will help with freezer burn if he's in the freezer for awhile. Like the others have said, The sooner the better. Oh and try to tag your bag so you know what it is. I've actually ended up with mystery critters in my freezer because of no/lost tags on bag.
