is this too long

i shot a bufflehead 2 years ago and wanted to get it mounted but couldnt due to lack of cash flow. but i am doing a little better now, but im afraid that it has been in my freezer too long now. i just have it wrapped up in a couple walmart bags. do you think that it would still be ok or did i mess up?

Re: is this too long

just wrapped in walmart bags probably has it burned, they need to be double wrapped in air tight freezer bags to last that long. have a taxi look at it. he'll be able to tell you. but it dosent sound to promising.

Re: is this too long

Don't worry about it huntergreen. Two years is nothing. I've successfully mounted birds frozen UNWRAPPED for ten years. No kidding!
Make sure you let your taxidermist know its been in the freezer for a while so he can treat it as such and you will have no problems.
If your taxidermists says "It can't be done" send me a PM and I'll help you find someone that can deal with it.

Like Paul said...find the right taxidermist. Your mount can be done.
