What should I do with the fan and beard.

I got a turkey this morning and I want the fan, beard, and spurs mounted. I've got to go to Indiana tomorrow and don't have time to get it to my taxidermy man today. How should I care for the fan, beard, and spurs in the mean time?

Wishing I was at camp!

freezer will do! should call your taxidermy man and see what he wants.

He never said it would be easy;
He only said it would be worth it!

That's what I thought. Tried to call him- he's probably out chasing birds.

Re: What should I do with the fan and beard.

Was it just the fan and beard or the whole turkey?

Last time I scored a nice one I put the fan on an opened up pizza box and held it open with straight pins. Dried up very nicedly and still holding perfect shape 4 years later.

I after it dried up real nice I bought a plain walnut mounting board that used a steel plate and soem screws to hold the fan in then I hot glued the bear up in the the botched out part. I think it turned out really nice. Just to brighten it up I stuck some of the wing feathers in the front.
