Skull cleaning gone wrong

Hi All,
I wanted to get another opinion. I had a company (I will leave out for now) do a bear rug and skull cleaning for me. They sent the rug back and on the invoice noted the skull was also sent. I contacted the company. They said they forgot and would send it out. Well I received the skull and the it looks like it was dropped and broken. The cheek bone was clearly broken in several places and glued back together. I am peeved that they didn't mention anything about the breaks and charged me full price for the cleaning.

I just contacted them telling them I am not happy about sending a broken skull or telling me it was broken. My guess they broke it and didn't send because the glue was drying. Am I over reacting in thinking, I shouldn't be charged full price?

how did they clean it ? beetles ? or the "boiling" method ?

if they boiled it, most likely they did it wrong, the bones became soft and brittle and broke. also if they didnt degrease it properly, it will start to turn a yellowish color and possibly attract bugs.

if they didnt do the skull right, what about the rug ? does it smell ?

if that wasn't properly fleshed and tanned, you will eventually have problems there as well.

They asked me to send them pictures of the breaks.

I am not sure how they cleaned it.

The rug has a slight oder but nothing terrible.

This a taxidermist that I found at the outdoorsman show in harrisburg. They had a ton of examples of there work at the show. It just stinks, the first bear I got and the skull is glued. Also, the glue job was poorly done.
