Deer hide question

Anyone remember a place out west (Montana, Colorado, etc.) that you could send your hide to and they would tan it and make gloves or a hat etc. out of it. I remember them advertising in a hunting mag and I had ordered a catalog from them but it has been a few years ago. Any info would be appriciated.

Also should I just skin it and put the hide in the freezer or should I salt or borax it?

Try using the new interactive Hunter Trapper Guide:

Is your position a short term gain - or a long term loss? Separate the issues.
