My first try at a european mount(pics)

Deceided to try a european mount on my own this year. Turned out much better than I anticipated! I have had professionally done european mounts in the past and wanted to give it a shot after comparing mine to them I am really happy with the outcome. I used the simmering method and only problem I had was the nose bone split apart alittle.

Here are a few pics
Right after it was done whitening

Another after whitening you can see where it split apart from simmering

Sample of what it will look like on the pedestal plaque

Not thes best pics but it will do for now I will add more once I get it mounted on the wall.

Re: My first try at a european mount(pics)

Thanks guys. It was actually my brotherís buck he was just going to cut the skull cap off and tack it up in the garage but I insisted he let me try a european on it.

Curious what you guys use to whiten your skulls?

I did a lot of reading online and tried the cosmetology grade peroxide it was volume 40 and I mixed it with Basic White developer and painted it on. It seemed to work really well.

Put a zip tie around the nose and put it in fresh clean water for a short time. Then pull the zip tie just a tad tighter and let it dry. the nose bones will pull right back together. Then run a bead of elmers white glue down it and voila!

Where did you get your plaque from? I did my own this year with 40 volume peroxide and it turned out nice too.
