Quick question for the experts

I have a fox hide from a red fox that was skinned last winter. It was hanging in my outdoor shed and became moldy and bug invested and obviously I'm disappointed at letting it get to this condition. Nothing was done to it other than the skinning process but I'd like to recover and use it. Any suggestions on cleaning and tanning it?

Re: Quick question for the experts

you can try and rehydrate it and see what happens , but since the bugs got to it i would say it is probably shot.If you are not comfortable doing it ,take it to a taxidermist and let him or her handle it for you.
