Looking for taxidermist NW PA

Hi Guys:

I dropped a grouse today that I would really like to get mounted if it is reasonable (price). Any suggestions on where to take it, and what I should expect to pay?

Thanks in advance.

Tim Schloss (in Erie) has done quite a few ducks for me and friend and a handful of upland birds. Check out his website; he does a real nice job on birds.

I've seen a few birds from TriState taxidermy; Paul C also does a nice job on birds.

I believe both of their websites list prices.

I've seen bird from more economical places; most are painful to look at.

I had a turkey and a walleye done at Karen`s Taxidermy, she did a nice job, and she was reasonable. Located just off I-79 exit 99 on RT285 towards Cochranton...

i've seen birds done by both of these guys and they look alive when done, absolutely awesome work. I believe both of these men are national champions and have won awards at the world championships in the masters division.

He is a little pricey, but with Marc you are getting the work done by the teacher and not the student! Most of the other people you will find that are good, is probably one of his students! Marc is a very good teacher...

I'd steer clear of Buckhaven in Sugar Grove. Had some ducks done that developed holes in webbing (bugs, I guess) and recently the tails fell off two of them. Nice guy but my business with him hasn't been good. Plan to discuss with him this week.

Tony Redfield of Redfields Woods and Water in Seneca,Pa. Has done numerous Turkeys for me and a friend and very pleased with his work. Great guy too. If his turkeys are any indication of his work on feathers than I'm sure he'd do a real nice grouse. Reasonable to boot!

16 years and counting. Welcome to the life of a Buffalo Bills fan!
