Re: Couple of Mounts

Are those considered Central Barren-Ground caribou??? All I need are a central and a mountain for the grand slam. How was that outfitter?

Yes they are. The one you see in the picture was a young bull. I was 23 years old and was a little anxious so I shot that one on our second day. It has double shovels and all the goodies, just a little thin. My dad's is the one where you see the neck and shoulders. That was a mature bull, as you can see by the white main. It had heavier antlers. We missed the heart of the migration so we didn't see as many as we would have liked and I think we were too hasty. All that being said, we were both very impressed with our trophies and got too sleep later and fish all day for the rest of the trip. Some other guys got some real beauties. I think they scored 322 and 343, respectively, if my memory serves me. This was back in Sept of 1994. We hunted with an outfitter named Webb. Not sure if he's even around anymore. 22 years ago now.......where does the time go?
