Well it's not really issues for anyone but my wife
in the quest to get one trout of every kind in the lower 48 I kinda got hung up on native brookies. Tried for 20 years to get one that is an honest 12" for the wall and a few years back I got 3 on one trip. So I had all three mounted together.
Later in the year wifey got a 14" native, so on the wall it went.
2 years ago trolling a pond managed one about 18" - biggest native I have ever seen. So on the wall it went.
Finally this spring, went back to the same pond, did three laps, first lap 13" fish - beauty but too big to eat so back it went. Next 2 laps were 20" and 21" fish, I figured I was at least $500 in the hole at that point so I quit and went back to PA.
Taxidermist was happy, wifey......well not so much, she says its time to focus on another species.
