Books recommendations

I am looking into trying taxidermy, want to specialize in deer and small game. Anyone have any good books they would recommend? Thanks

Re: Books recommendations

some of the best reading is on under the forums, then under tutorials. it is many peoples opinions/methods, rather than just one authors way. they also link you you to all the supplies and videos you would need.

Re: Books recommendations

You may find DVD video instruction to be the most helpful and easily understood means of learning taxidermy. Wasco (Wildlife Artist Supply Company) offers a very wide selection of instructional videos on all areas of taxidermy. Watch the video a few times and then practice, practice, and practice some more. When you feel comfortable with what your doing, you may want to consider competition. I feel personally that, hands down, nothing will stimulate realism and creativity in your mounts more than taxidermy competition. I wish you the best.
