Hello! I was just wondering, how many taxidermists out there do bone articulation - and how many just chuck them?
I've been thinking about buying some dermestid beetles and getting into it as a hobby to kill time. Even if I don't really get into it I have the hardware already, so expenses would be minimal. Would it be worth talking to some local taxidermists to see if they had some skeletons they would just be chucking otherwise? And any advice for someone just starting out on this if you have done it yourself?
As long as you have a separate building for the stinking beetles and lots of free time to put the Skelton back together ! I have beetles and have an otter cleaned, not degreased or whitened yet and also plan on doing a lifesize coyote as time permits! The otter has been clean for 2 yrs , taxidermy is keeping me from starting on it!
