I shot a woodcock today and i am thinking about getting it mounted. I was wondering what i should do with it until i take it to the taxidermist. Should i put it in the freezer or wrap it? Have any of you got woodcock mounted how do you have them mounted? Thanks for reading!

Re: Woodcock

wrap it in 2 plastic bags and put it in the freezer. make sure it`s not just stuffed in the freezer they are delicate birds.

Re: Woodcock

you can get it mounted with the best side showing this way the bad wing will not show as much, if there is only a few feathers missing it might not be a big deal.
