A message for all the taxidermists out there

I just finished my first taxidermy project. A Van Dyke's $19.99 standing pheasant mount. I wanted to use a pheasant I shot for a predator decoy. After hours of frustrating work it looks like crap. I didn't expect it to be ''good'', just believable enough to bring a fox in to shooting range. To put it in perspective I finished it with a staple gun.

I have the utmost respect for all of you now. I have already thought taxidermy was a true art. I have seen tons of them that were bad, but better then mine. I have truly been humbled by a dead pheasant and a little foam body.

Hats off to all of you!

Dont be discouraged. The more you do, the better they get. Practice (and study) makes (almost) perfect. Thanks for your post.
