Freeze or refrigerate?

Killed a buck Thursday at 3:15pm. Butchered him Friday with the intentions of taking the head/cape to the taxidermist today (Saturday). I just called and found out that the taxi I plan on using is closed Saturday's and Sunday's so I can't drop it off till Monday morning. Should I freeze the head/cape until then, or would it be ok to refrigerate it? It's been left outside in the shade since then and the temps have been pretty much below 40 degrees.
