Nebraska Euro

Found this guy when we were out in Nebraska turkey hunting. He must have been shot and not found that season, most of the goods were gone except the flesh and hair, with a good bit of stench still there. So i brought it home and hung it out by our compost bins at the turkey barns and the flys did some quick work over the rest of the spring and summer.

Got on here and looked up all of your suggestions on how to do it. Soaked in dawn detergent and hot water for about 4 weeks changing the water and soap about every other day. Then about $10 worth of peroxide and about a week in that bath and it didn't turn out too awful bad for as cheap as it was done and for the first one.

My pap was a carpenter for penn state so he whipped up the base for it and here's the finished product, sorry for the cell phone pic, digital camera isn't workin.

And thanks to all you guys who had posted how to do this. I was one of those guys that thought bleach would work, i woulda been awfully disappointed when i pulled it out of there from what i read on here haha

Re: Nebraska Euro

Looks pretty good! Surprised all the parts were still with it having sat so long. Deer skulls aren't actually put together too well and finding them whole is rare.

Re: Nebraska Euro

Yeah i dont know how long it was there, it was still attatched to the spine and i was able to just pop it right off, maybe it died right before spring in some of those fierce snow storms they get out there. But it was in perfect shape when i found it, i was surprised there arent any rodent marks anywhere on the antlers or skull
