Preserving bear skin

Due to a divorce,I'm losing my(her) chest freezer this weekend.I was able to fit everything that was in it into my smaller freezer, except a small bear hide. It was fleshed out real well and frozen since last spring, head and paws attached, skinned for a rug.I don't need another rug,so I'm going to cut off the paws and head, preserve the claws and the skull. I was just wondering the easiest way to preserve the skin. Not interested in tanning it or making it soft. Just want to be able to nail it to the wall in my workshop or up the camp. Any ideas?

Hi stockman feed salt at tractor supply. Salt real good for a couple days, shake it off and hang it. It'll dry hard on its own.
