Question about using my GPS

Hi everyone,

I have a Magellan 1200 Road Mate that works great on roads.

My question is, does anyone know if I can enter a starting point on a bird hunt, and enter waypoints along the way that will work even though there are no roads in the area?

I plan to try it on my next gamelands trip, but I thought someone may have some advice.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Re: Question about using my GPS

it will work until you try to get it to guide you to another waypoint or POI. it will try to use roads, not direction.

Re: Question about using my GPS

I wouldn't most of them arent to good with dampness or being bumped around, plus it will drain the battery quickly.

Re: Question about using my GPS

Sounds like your settings are set to lock on road. You will have to play with it and see if there is a setting called "OFF ROAD". It would help if you let us know what GPS you have.
