The New Redfield Scopes?

Does anyone own one of the new Redfield Revolution scopes?
I was concidering buying one because I kinda like the new circle reticle that they offer, but I was a little hesitant on buying a cheaper scope. Is the quality any good on them? I have had cheap scopes in the past, and one thing I noticed about them was that when you change between 3 power to 9 power, some of them change the point of impact a little. I wonder if I would be better off buying a Leupold? Although they have been getting good reviews.I need a scope for a 300 wsm Browning a bolt. Thanks in advance Jim Reilly

Redfields are now made by Leopold in Oregon..They are cheaper price but still good quality..Buy yourself one and try it out if you do not like it sell it.I am sure it will hold its value well..

They are still new, so the juries still out on their reliability and quality, but enough guys have bought them that by the end of this years hunting season you should get plenty of reports on these......Ken

I have read some pretty good reviews of them. I was thinking of getting one myself if the rifles I have up for sale don't sell.

Re: The New Redfield Scopes?

What i think is Var.x3 is only Leupold to buy in their line up of scopes. All the other scopes in the last 5 yrs. have come up to much better, if your talkin under $500.00 If for huntin like 2x7 or 3x9. Bushnell, Nikon are as good as any of them . After $500.00 Zeiss, Swarovski, Trijicon,LeupoldIII. Leupold had for many years tide up the better scopes now they want the lesser price too. they have all kinds of models that they didn't have before. Hard to beat quality of bushnell 3200,4200,6500 and life time warn. Just sayen lots of good scopes now on market. I've had Leupold, Redfield, Weaver,Zeiss,Bushnell, over the years and only sent one back and hate to say it was Redfield. I'ed say stick with the trid and true IMO....later

Redfield is Leupold.

Leupold's CS outstanding.

No harm no foul.

Another day in paradise. God hunts on Sundays.

Re: The New Redfield Scopes?

Thanks guys, I'm deciding between the Redfield with the accu reticle, or a Leupold vari ll with just the duplex. I am not real sure that I need all those hold over points, but the circle may be a good quick focus on fast shots.

Re: The New Redfield Scopes?

I bought a 3x9x40 and put it on a 700 30.06. I gave it as a grad present. We have shot about 50 rounds through it and im quite impressed. It hold POI and is crystal clear. Has decent controls on it for adjustments. I used to buy the Nikon prostaff model but for the same 150 bucks im going to be buying these instead..As stated above they are backed by Leuopold and made in good ol USA...IMO you wont go wrong....
