Boots & Wool Storage ??

Started my end of season chores. This year I can take my time - retired with time to spend. Bought some nice new stuff this year and want to take care of it. Asking for suggestions on best way to store some 95% wool shirts & drawers. Also bought new Danner 9" leather/Goretex/rubber boots and new Wolverine 9" Goretex/rubber boots. Suggestions on how to clean & store them.
Keeping them in a house which will have no heat while I am in Fl until April.

Re: Boots & Wool Storage ??

I hunt exclusively in wool, so I have lots of it. I store all mine in plastic totes shoved in the back of my closet. I wear all rubber boots. I just put them on top of the containers for storage. I'll put the boots on the back porch a month or so before the season to air out. Make sure you keep them out of the direct sunlight if possible. Nothing will ruin rubber quicker than UV.

Stickbow is right on. I also add cedar blocks to my wool to discourage pests.

Cedar Blocks !!! WOW.... Great idea!! I have seen cedar used for that... even installed a wall of cedar t & g paneling in a closet one time but... just didn't register for me on my hunting gear.

Thank you very much.

Do you ever apply silicone on Goretex boots?
