thermacell

i've seen countless commercials for these things but do they really work? and if they do is there any kind of scent to them? not worth it if it repels deer too..

Re: thermacell

do you know if they work for all kinds of bugs or just mosquitos? i don't know why there would be a difference but maybe some bugs are tougher lol

Re: thermacell

Used one in trout season this year and it worked excellent. I will have it strapped to my vest no matter what from now on.

If its outdoors I'm willing to give it a try.

Re: thermacell

I used one on the porch this year, as directed, with virtualy no wind. Still got torn up. After all these mosquitoe bites I have after a few days out in the early season, I'm gonna be giving it another shot and buying a new one bc apparently they work for everyone else.

Re: thermacell

I used mine for the first time this past Saturday in MD. was getting tired of swatting at skitters, so I turned the thermacell on. It took a few minutes, but once it started smokin'up real good and the wind was blowing the smoke/scent around me, I DEFINATELY noticed a difference. Skitters disappeared! Won't go hunting without it in the future as long as it's warm enough for skitters!

Re: thermacell

Best mosquito repeller out there. Get the fresh earth wafers which when you use them smell like fresh earth. I also will put a few drops of doe pee on the wafer. Still keeps the skeeters away but puts out a nice doe pee smell with the heat.
