Re: gear

backpacks are a waste...dont buy things just because you see guys on TV that have them.

Take what you need and thats it.

-weapon and needed accessories (release/bullets)
-appropriate clothing
-knife
-licence (although if i forget it, im not driving back home to get it)
-and i always have my cellphone

everything else can wait, or isnt needed.

Re: gear

I'd recommend concentrating on your footwear (boots) the most. Cold, wet or uncomfortable feet can really ruin your day!

Re: gear

Being cold and wet will ruin your hunt, I agree concentrate on that first. You probably won't be in a survival situation so do overdo the extra gear. I always have a flashlight, 2 knives(pocket and sheath) drag rope, garbage bag (good for a dry seat, rain protection and to put organs in), some paper towels to clean off the blood, snacks and H2o. I also like to take a paperback book to kill time depending on conditions.

Re: gear

what do you want to hunt??? You have to decide what game and what season you are going to hunt before you decide what gear you need.
