Got a new pair of Cabela's Outfitter Boots recently. I took them brand new, put them in the oven, warmed them up, then applied a good coat of mink oil. I was wondering what you guys use to condition the leather on leather boots to keep them waterproof and in good shape.
I buy silicone from the red-wing boot store by my house, it's been the most waterproof stuff I've used. I put mink oil on a pair of work boots before and the first time my boots got wet, my socks and feet were dyed orange.
Kiwi Camp dry. However, allow a lot of time for air out and drying if your using them for deer hunting. Only think I dont like is that it seals them so well that you lose a lot of the breathability of the boot.
Never underestimate pride; it can be a Man's greatest strength or his worst enemy
I got some stuff from a Company out in California named TREK 7. They makea product called Aqua Armour. It is a great waterproofing agent. I applied it to a hat of mine and you can actually fill the hat with water like a bowl. It wont leak and is awesome for rewaterproofing or waterproofing any garment you got.
I often wonder,Why do people get mad, when you tell them the truth?
