Re: updating a garmin etrex?

I've updated my E-trex Legend. After a few years it started acting strange. Mine came w/ a cord that connected to a serial port and my old laptop still had a serial port so I connected it and went to Garmin's web site and found I was something like version 2.3 and updated to the latest version which was something like 3.6 and it acted fine...

Now I'd need a cord that hooks to a USP port. There is info on the web to make the serial port cord over to a USB cord but I'm closer to looking to upgrade before I do that...

U R Welcome. http://gpsinformation.net has a ton of tips & reviews about the use, care and feeding of your GPS.

The signals are coordinated thru a down load from a few key satellites and are good for two weeks. Keeping batteries in the unit and using it every 10 - 13 days keeps this info current making it establish it's location faster. There is alot of good info out there!
