Garmin vs Lowrance

I know the gps thing is asked all teh time but I looked back thru old post and could not find these 2. I am looking for a gps w/ topos/topo ability for around 200.
I have a basic etrex for about 7 years now but want a little more. I am tring to decide between the Gramin Summit and the lowrance Endura out & back back come w/ topo and reviews are about the same, any advice

Fear not,go to either Cabelas in Hamburg or Bass Pro Shop in Harrisburg and let the salesperson show you all the latest GPS devices and their features. There may be ones better then the models you are looking at..By the way 200 USD is not going to get you a top of the line model.. You may want to find one you like then get on EBAY and get it used.

check out the garmin rino series ,,they have the bult in radio ,, when using 2 units ( you and your buddy ) it will show where the other one is ,,MOST of the rino units allow you to add topo into them
i use a rino 120 and love it easy to use

Re: Garmin vs Lowrance

Thanks for the ideas, my plan is to go to BPS on monday try some out, I do like the rino idea. I am aware that 200$ is still a base line model but I am tring to get the most bang for my 200 bucks, that is what the wife tells me I can spend on a gps, I have got quite a few new toys and some land in the past 2 years so 200$ it is

Re: Garmin vs Lowrance

We have run every model of garmin rhino gps. The high end models w/ built in batteries are the only way to go. There was a website my buddies have bought the last 3 from for about 2/3 price of cabelas.

The battery on my rhino got put away in december, i got it out in november (following year) and it was 75%...they are hardcore. plus u already have the radio in it.
