Re: Brush Machete

I have a Gerber as well and I have yet to "sharpen" it. I use it too, but man does it take a beating and keeps on chopping and hacking.

Re: Brush Machete

I've hacked through miles of brush with a 20"-22" wood handled machete (similar to the one below) over the years. A good aim and proper technique are quite important. Also, knowing how different plants react to the machete helps. Not everything should be cut in the same manner.

Re: Brush Machete

Barteaux & Sons, USA
22" blade
I've use this for many years. Good steel, good edge.
It may look rough, but don't get in it's way...lol. Still holds a good edge and has backbone. Lots of miles on this one...

I like the hooked handle. Keeps hand in place when swinging or chopping. Designed so it won't fly out of your hand...

I made sheath years ago...
