With a little coaxing, my wife got these for me for Christmas. They are exactly what you'd expect, they work great. Just in case anybody else is thinking about buying them. Any questions, just PM me.

What is the maxinum distance that you have been able to get a true reading on a non-reflective (deer) target ?

Save a wolf , take one to the taxidermist

i read the specs on a website it said 500 yards but i dont believe that it will definetly range it farther if the max range is 1600 my monarch 1200 will range a deer between 600-800 yards depending on conditions but as far as getting a 1200 reding out of it you have to be hitting a house.

i bought the nikon 550 and took it back the next day i had a hard time getting a 300 yard reading out of it

as far as rangefinders go enless your bowhunting ive learned to by the farthest ranging.

ill probably pick up that lieca 1600 this summer. that would have to be my favorite on the market at the moment.
