Leupold Binocs.

Anyone have any experience with these? I love their scopes, but have no experience with the binoculars. Thanks!

Re: Leupold Binocs.

I have a pair of Acadia's. I want to say they are 8x40's.
I got them at a very good price on a silent auction at a NRA banguet. Around the same time, I got a pair of Nikon Monarch's, also 8x. Between the two, I think the Nikon's are better glass. In fact I took the Nikon's when I went to Alaska on my grizzly hunt.
Can't speak to the other levels of Leupold binos. Not saying they are bad, just not as good as the Nikons.

That being said, I tend to be pretty hard on equipment. I have had issues with the Nikons that I've had to have repaired, but have had no issues with the Leupolds. So on a durability standpoint, I'd give the nod to the Leupolds.

I recently got a pair of Leupold Yosemites 6x30. I love them so far. For under $100 they are a steal.

Re: Leupold Binocs.

I have the 8x40 cascades and they are really nice. I have no complaints and would recommend them to any one. They were one of the best gifts my wife has ever gotten me.

I have a pair of Leupold BX-4 McKinley HD 8x42mm and they compare to binos costing twice as much.

I have a pair of Leupold Yosemites 6x30. They are really nice for the price. In fact, you wont find better quality for their price point.

Re: Leupold Binocs.

I have three pairs and they're all nice.I bought my son a pair of Yosemeties and they're about as good as you can get for the money. They aren't the best However.I feel naked without good glass when I'm hunting for deer.I have a pair of 8x42 cascades that I use almost exclusively.

Re: Leupold Binocs.

Like Kudu, I have a pair of Acadias. Basically, I'm a little disappointed with them. The optics are average, but the thing I dislike most about them is that they are pretty heavy around the neck when carrying them for a while. I wish I would have gotten something a little smaller and with better optics.
I really like the Cabelas' brand which are rebranded Meopta's. They are quality optics in a smaller package, but a little more pricey!
Mike....good luck with whatever you choose.
