Re: cold weather socks

Anything with a high content of Merino wool, 85% or better.

Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

Re: cold weather socks

One of the things that no only make up a good warm sock is how they wash up after the first time you wear them. I can't tell you how many socks I've bought that after the first time you wear and wash them they turn out all narly and even the elastic won't keep them up on your legs.

I've had good luck with the Under Armour brand and the Browning brand socks, both for warmth and washability.

My 2 cents!

Alpaca wool socks work well also if you can find them.

Re: cold weather socks

Polypro sock liners (the kind with the silver threads. I got them at REI) and Smartwool medium thickness socks for me. Love the warmth and feet stay very comfy.

Re: cold weather socks

If you have a military surplus store near you the polar fleece socks they sell are the best I have ever worn. Feet stay warm and its like wearing a pair of fleece lined slippers inside your boots.
Bought four pair last time I was at the store in Monroeville.
