Recoil Pad for Browning a bolt fld?

I recently bought a 300 wsm a bolt, and it kicks like a mule as expected. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to tame it down a bit with an after market recoil pad or a recoil pad that you would wear ect. Also the gun is much lighter than most. I think it is about 7 lbs with the scope. Thanks in advance, Jim Reilly

Most recoil pads are sold as is and then you pay someone to make them fit the gun you own and put it on for you.

There is a couple of slip on pads on the market that just slips over the rifle stock.
Heavy recoil is the downside to shooting a light rifle.

On the good side - you will not feel the recoil when you are shooting at a 10 point buck.

You can but a "pre-fit" pad by Limbsaver- I have one on my Encore frame and it is effective- but it is not an exact fit. It is plump in some places and skimpy in others-no more than a few hundreths of an inch-not a custom fit.

I also recommend one of the pads you wear. I have one I bought from MidwayUSA or Cabelas, and it works well for bench shooting.
