Brinkman Qbeam

Does anyone know if the large plug on the Qbeam lights can be cut off and replaced with a smaller aftermarket plug? The standard plug is just to darn big for my cig outlet in the truck. Not sure why they put such a big plug on these lights.

Re: Brinkman Qbeam

Shouldn't be a problem to do. The voltage regulator should be in the Qbeam and not the plug, but check the stickers/warning labels on the Qbeam and plug for their tollerances. It should say what the input voltage needs to be (12.6-14.4V is normal for a charged vehicle battery).

You need to keep the polarity the same. Make sure you wire the new plug the same as the old one.
