best sharpener for a buck knife

Hi Guys:
I have alot of Buck knifes, but have trouble resharpening them. Ive tried the Lansky, and diamond stones, but cant seem to get that original razor edge. Most of the sharpeners out there reccommend a 25 degree edge, but Buck knifes come with a 13 to 15 degree edge from the factory. I was thinking of the Chefs Choice sharpener, but I dont know if an electric sharpener will ruin the tempered steel, and what degree it will put on the blade. One of them has a trizor edge, I dont know about that one. Thanks in advance, Jim Reilly

redi edge available at dicks of gander, best 20 bucks you can spend for the ultra hard steel used in buck knives

It may be a poor choice of words but I am smart enough to understand what you meant.

If you have a bench grinder, buy a paper wheel sharping system. Grizzly tools sells them. This will put a razor edge on any knife in about minute.

Re: best sharpener for a buck knife

Buck knife company is the best sharpener. I sent mine bakc to them a few years back to resharpen. It was the best money I spent. They put a factory edge back on it and cleaned up the knife. It looked as good as new when I got it back. This knife is 25 years old and gutted over 60 deer and has been sharpened only once since I own it.
I would highly recommend letting Buck resharpen your knives.

Good advice. Never thought of that.

For a really dull blade 1. Smooth carborundum 2. Buck Washita stone 3. Crockstick ceramic rod 4. Razor strop to take care of wire edge.
Like new again. Maintaining correct angle is the trick.
Keep "Dogbone" ceramic stick in pack to touch up when/if needed in the field.
