Compass

Been thinking about getting a compass because I've been going to some new places and exploring around and figured it would be a great addition to my hunting gear, I know how to use one but I know nothing about what compasses are better and now here is my question - what is a better compass a liquid filled or non liquid filled?

Re: Compass

About the only thing a liquid filled will do for you is help stabilize the needle. Not needed for rough field work, but at the same time it won't hurt anything, nor will it make the compass any harder to use.

I don't know, the one I carry hunting isn't liquid filled.

Re: Compass

How big a compass do you have? I was looking for one small enough to mount into the riser on my recurve.
