I am looking at a camp in rich valley. Does anyone know anything about the area? I have heard great things but looking for more info. Anything you know helps. Thanks
I have a Seneca DMAP for that area for the second year. I scouted it twice last year and found lots of clearcuts, coyote sign, and a rattlesnake. I never did hunt it, as I am an oak forest hunter mostly and we had good acorns down here. Up there it is northern hardwoods forest type. There have to be deer in the cuts, I saw some does and two little bucks while scouting.
I hope to hunt it once or twice this year, as I hate to buy a tag and not use it and keep someone else from getting it.
Beautiful area. I fished the Driftwood branch for the first time last month. You can drive all the way up the valley to the Shawmut Grade and there is some amazing territory to scout/hunt/fish and keep you still finding new spots for decades.
That area is beautiful. My Dad used to know a guy who we visited on the first day of trout season for years. when I was young I loved "drowning a few worms", when I grew up, it was great to catch a few trout and then hang out by the fire.
Yea a great view. I waited to say which I was till we got it. The land is what sold me my first walk up the mountain I had a nice bear walk right up to me.
