Virginia Second Amendment Sanctuaries

Way to go Chincoteague (BTW in 1861, they also voted not to secede from the Union and Island residents formed their own militia and assisted the Union Naval Command during the war.)

That 2nd amend. sanctuary thing seems pretty useless in Virginia. The county sheriff where Chincoteague is located has already said he will enforce the laws. He said he doesn`t get to choose which laws to enforce. Plus, the local police forces receive alot of money from the state and the governor has already hinted that those funds could be withheld if necessary.

If they do an end run against our Constitution and The Amendments they should be charged and stand trial for treason.

The Town of Chincoteague is a bit like a foreign country down there. They may get some funding from the state, but most comes from the town's 5 percent extra sales tax on the island, paid mostly by tourists. Ever see the firehalls there? Taj Mahals compared to most places all paid for by the tourists wanting to see a pony. A town of 3,000 year round residents' fire company takes in about $225,000 to $300,000 thousand a year from the sale of their wild ponies. Interesting that a Sheriff would say that. We need a Sheriff to say -- to the illegal alien sanctuaries and round a bunch up.

The sheriff in the neighboring county said the same thing. "We can`t choose which laws we will enforce." I guess they want to keep their jobs !!!

Looks like the governor is going to flex his muscles. I was screaming at my radio when I heard this on the way to work this morning.

Virginia Governor Ralph Northam plans to declare a temporary emergency Wednesday banning all weapons, including guns, from Capitol Square ahead of a massive rally planned next week over gun rights.
